After the kids yearly check up I have renewed my vow to make sure they get at least five servings of fruits and veggies each day. Here are some ways I can be sneaky about it.
Orange Pudding or Pops
One sweet potato, peeled and steamed
1 single serving container of apple sauce
.5 of vanilla or banana yogurt
a little water
(I've also put in a little protein powder when we have it lying around.)
blend in a blender, and serve as a "pudding" to try to trick your kid into thinking it is dessert.* I've also mixed in carrots, acorn squash, cinnamon, nutmeg, real bananas, oranges, etc.
*Caleb doesn't buy the whole "pudding" idea, but he does think it is dessert if I freeze them into popsicles.
