Elise has sprouted an independence streak the last few weeks. She insists on walking. She even wants to climb out of her high chair on her own. The other day when I tried to feed her applesauce she pitched a hunger strike. The way she pursed her lips and sank back into her high chair, the way she tried to hide her face from the applesauced spoon, the way she cried like, well, a baby . . . You would have thought I was trying to feed her fire. I finally just gave her the spoon and she perked right up. Though the spoon proved to cumbersome and was quickly dispensed with. Her little fingers are much more efficient. Needless to say applesauce went everywhere.
Thankfully, we have a great vegetable sprayer.
